Lauren helps financial institutions build and maintain compliant consumer mortgage, installment loan and automobile finance programs nationwide. As a partner in our Virginia office, she advises national and state banks, savings associations, credit unions, mortgage bankers, licensed lenders, and motor vehicle dealers on regulatory compliance and risk management.

Before joining Hudson Cook, Lauren served as First Vice President and Counsel at SunTrust Banks, Inc., where she advised on federal and state compliance matters for a $250 billion consumer lending portfolio, with a focus on mortgage servicing. Prior to joining SunTrust, she worked in private practice representing financial institutions in complex commercial real estate transactions. She began her career conducting residential real estate closings for sellers, purchasers and lenders – handling all aspects of the transaction from the title search to disbursement of funds.

Lauren earned her J.D. from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Rollins College.  Lauren is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Dealer Counsel.

Outside of her legal practice, Lauren enjoys architecture and interior design and spending time with her husband, two children and two Cavalier King Charles spaniels.
